Enterprise Infrastructure

Integrating Systems

Scope of EI Responsibility

EI’s responsibility is to provide a secure and redundant environment by designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining the physical and logical components of its servers and its network.

EI currently supports numerous multi-platform systems in a variety of physical and virtual shared environments. These systems are housed across three data centers managed by EI and two additional co-location sites. EI is actively working with business process owners to virtualize and collapse like infrastructures where possible, striving to remove duplication of services brought forth by the integration.

EI offers hosting services to the University community within the EI computing environment. Most typically, hosting is provided as a suite of managed services (O/S support, patching, backups, and monitoring), but EI also provides clients with the ability to be provisioned bare-metal virtual machines.
