The EI-Hill data center is located in the Hill Center for Mathematical Sciences building, Busch Campus. It serves as both a University co-location facility and a hosting site for central university IT services such as the Telecommunications core data /voice / wireless network infrastructure, computer labs support, enterprise e-mail and web hosting. In addition, Hill Center hosts research, academic, and administrative departments’ compute infrastructures.
Hill Center is a Tier 1+ data center with the following infrastructure characteristics:
- 6000 sq. feet of raised floor / 6400 sq. feet total white space
- 3 video cameras at the main data center entrances
- 132 Tons (1,584,000 BTU/hr) cooling capacity
- 450 kVA/400kW UPS 30 minutes ride-through @ rated load
- (3) 225 kVA and (2) 100 kVA room power distribution units
- 1000 kW diesel generator (shared) with a 1000 gallon fuel tank
- Monitored proximity card access
- 140 discrete points of environmental monitoring
- 6 discrete points of leak detection
- CO2 and water pre-action fire suppression systems
